Rankings are not for sale
No retailer can buy a position in a ranked comparison. We decline these requests, and if one is made about a page you're reading, we'll tell you.
How we're funded, who decides what order offers appear in, where every number on a page comes from, what we refuse to sell at any price, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Retailers pay us to appear on PriceReviews. Some pay per click, when a shopper clicks through to them; others pay a commission when a shopper buys. It costs you nothing either way, you pay the retailer's normal price, and clicking through from here never makes anything more expensive.
Which arrangement applies to a given retailer is a commercial detail between us and them, and it changes nothing about what you see.
What that money buys is a place on the page and nothing else: not a position, not a badge, not a slot, and not a kinder description. Offers are ordered by the price the retailer gives us.
Four rules that keep commercial interest out of the order things appear in. They're structural, because a promise not to be tempted isn't worth much.
No retailer can buy a position in a ranked comparison. We decline these requests, and if one is made about a page you're reading, we'll tell you.
The order of a comparison is computed from the prices retailers send us. There is no editing step in which someone could move an offer up, which is a stronger guarantee than a policy promising they wouldn't.
Every offer names its retailer and shows the price we were sent, and links straight to that retailer's page. If our number and theirs disagree, one click shows it, and we would rather you told us than assumed we knew.
Position in a ranked comparison, at any price. This is the one that gets asked most, and the answer has never changed.
Ad slots, sponsored placements and category sponsorships. Not because a buyer never asks, but because the moment part of the page is for sale, the rest of it needs defending.
Reviews, review scores, or the removal of an unflattering one. We don't write reviews to order and we don't take them down because a brand asked.
Editorial text that reads as our own opinion but was paid for. Sponsored content, if we ever run it, will be labelled as such at the top, not the bottom.
Your personal data. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with retailers beyond what a click-out necessarily reveals.
Our goal is to list every product available to buy, and we are over five million of them in. Where something is missing it is because we have not reached it yet, not because we decided it did not belong.
We don't show product ratings or review counts. Every rating we could reach traces back to a source we are not permitted to republish, so we show none rather than one we can't attribute.
We don't present manufacturer marketing copy as our own assessment, invent review scores, or write reviews under invented names.
We don't guarantee a price. Everything on the page is what a retailer told us at our last daily refresh, and the retailer's checkout is always the authority.
We get things wrong: a mismatched product, a price that moved, a spec a manufacturer quietly revised.
When you report one, we fix it within the hour. Send the page address and what you saw at the retailer to admin@pricereviews.com, and where the error changed the order of a comparison we note the correction on the page.
A wrong price is the single most useful thing you can send us. It is the fastest to verify and the most damaging to leave, so it goes to the front of the queue ahead of everything else.
Wrong price, wrong product, or an ordering that doesn't make sense, tell us and we'll look at it.
